RawPace Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
RawPace is a training app for Wear OS watches, with an Android phone app to set it up. It is developed by Miguel Angel Manguero, based in Spain, who is the controller of the data covered by this policy. Contact: [email protected].
In short
- RawPace has no user accounts. Your activities, routes and settings are stored on your watch and your phone, and never go through our servers.
- RawPace’s only server delivers the maps you download.
- We don't collect or see your training data, except what you send us in a diagnostic report. We don't sell or share it.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
What data the app uses, and why
- Precise location (GPS) on the watch, to record your route, distance, pace and speed, show your position on the map and warn you if you leave a route. During an activity, with a notification visible while it runs, and on the watch’s start screen, so the signal is ready before you start: there it stops after 3 minutes without interaction.
- Heart rate and cadence, from the watch sensor or from a Bluetooth heart rate strap you pair, to show them during the activity, work out your zones and save them with the activity.
- Barometric pressure, for altitude and elevation gain.
- Bluetooth, only to connect your heart rate strap. It is not used to locate you.
- What you enter: your age (to estimate your maximum heart rate), your maximum heart rate or zones, the screens you set up, your interval workouts, your units and the routes you import.
- Approximate location on the phone, only if you tap “My location” when choosing a map area to download. It is used to center the map at that moment and is not stored separately: if you download that area, the region is saved like any other you choose.
- Notifications, to show the progress of downloads and transfers to the watch, and the activity in progress.
Maps and place search
- To download a map, the watch (over its Wi-Fi) or the phone requests from maps.rawpace.app, RawPace’s map server, the map pieces for the area you choose; when you view the map on the phone, the pieces on screen as well. When you open Maps, the phone also checks which map is current. As with any Internet connection, the server receives your IP address and which area is requested. We don't keep logs of those requests. The server is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes this technical data to deliver and protect the maps.
- If you search for a place by name, or when the app names a region you are about to download, your Android phone’s place-search service is used, which on most phones is provided by Google. It receives the text you search for or the center of the region. Your activities are never sent to this service.
- Maps © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the ODbL license, via Protomaps.
Where it is stored and how it moves
- In the internal storage of your watch and your phone.
- Between watch and phone, data travels over the Wear OS Data Layer, provided by Google Play services. Google handles that transport, and it may go through Google’s servers when the watch and the phone are not connected over Bluetooth.
- A copy of your settings. So that you don’t lose it when you reinstall the app or change phones, the app keeps a copy of your settings: your screens, your profile (age, maximum heart rate and zones), your preferences, your interval workouts, your imported routes and the list of your map regions. It does not include your activities. If Android backup is turned on, that copy goes to your Google account; we have no access to it. You can also save it by hand, or automatically to a folder you choose. If you move to a new phone with Android's transfer tool, your configuration can be copied directly to the new phone, without going through the cloud.
When it leaves your devices
Your activities, only when you decide: when you export them as FIT or GPX and share them with another app or service, or when you send us a diagnostic report. From then on, that service’s privacy policy applies. Your settings also leave them in the backup described above, to your Google account or the folder you choose and, if you move to a new phone with Android's transfer tool, to the new phone.
How to delete it
- Delete an activity from History in the phone app: it is deleted from the watch too, or, if the watch is not connected, as soon as it connects.
- Delete a route or a map region from Maps in the phone app, in the same way. Regions can also be deleted on the watch.
- Uninstalling the app deletes all its data from that device. You can also clear it in Settings → Apps → RawPace → Storage → Clear data. The copy of your configuration in your Google account is not deleted when you uninstall; you can delete it from Android's backup settings.
If you email us
If you write to [email protected], we use your address and your message only to reply and, if you sign up as a tester, to give you access to the Google Play test. Email is forwarded to a Gmail account. We do not pass it on to anyone, and you can ask us to delete it.
If you send us a diagnostic report
If something goes wrong, you can prepare a diagnostic report from the phone app to help us find the problem. It is a file with the activity you choose (as FIT, with its route unless you tick “Remove the route”), the error logs of the watch and phone apps, the app version, and the model and system version of your watch and phone. Nothing is sent automatically: you choose which app to send it with and who to send it to; we suggest [email protected]. If you send it to us, we use it only to investigate that problem and delete it once it is solved.
Purchases
If you buy RawPace, payment is handled by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details.
Children
RawPace is not intended for children under 16.
Your rights
Since we do not keep your training data on any server, we have no copy to give you or delete: it is on your devices and you control it. For any question about your data or your email, write to us. If you think it necessary, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
This website
rawpace.app is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses no cookies and no analytics, and only stores in your browser whether you prefer the light or dark theme. Cloudflare processes technical connection data, such as your IP address, to serve and protect the site.
Changes
If this policy changes (for example, when sync with other platforms arrives, as announced on the website, we will explain it here), we will publish it here with its date and mention it in the release notes.
