Off route

If you go off the route, the watch alerts you; and it lets you know when you’re back on it, too.

When it alerts you

If you’re more than 40 m from the route for 10 seconds, the watch gives three long vibrations and shows “OFF ROUTE · N m”. If you stay off, it reminds you every 5 minutes. Positions with an accuracy worse than 25 m don’t count, so a bad GPS reading won’t set it off.

The off-route alert takes priority over the others: it doesn’t wait for the lap summary to go away, and while it shows, the lap summary and the interval step change aren’t drawn. Coming in 0.3

Back on route

When you’re back within 24 m for 10 seconds, you get one short vibration and “BACK ON ROUTE”. You can rejoin the route anywhere: the watch picks it up wherever you are.
